The two brands are united in their commitment to supporting moms every step of the way – through pregnancy, in the hospital, and at home, so they can give the best to their baby, every day.

“This year, we are celebrating Medela’s 40th anniversary in the United States of supporting millions of breastfeeding families across the globe,” said Melissa Gonzales, RN, executive vice president of the Americas for Medela. “Our partnership with March of Dimes is about amplifying the work to support women and infant health, and ensuring that all moms and babies have access to the resources and support they need.”

In partnership with March of Dimes, Medela is proud to support the It Starts With Mom Campaign this year, alongside employee-driven fundraising within the Medela USA headquarters to benefit research initiatives through the March of Dimes.

  • It Starts With Mom

So many moms and pregnant people across the country want to feel better prepared for pregnancy and what's to come. Even without a global pandemic, motherhood is hard. But through it all, mom's strength, resilience and hope always persist. This May, Medela is a sponsor of March of Dimes’ It Starts With Mom and their signature event It Starts With Mom Live for a whole new spin on the week before Mother’s Day to honor moms throughout every stage of pregnancy, to raise awareness of the changing role of motherhood and how communities can support them. This initiative will drive awareness on maternal health, working moms, pre- and postpartum pregnancy, and dealing with some of today's biggest challenges—at home, in the workplace and during medical visits.

  • Join the March for Babies Walk

Every year, hundreds of families and business leaders support the annual March for Babies, the largest annual fundraising event that helps babies get a healthy start in life. This year, March for Babies is a virtual walk event across the country. Residents can sign up at marchforbabies.org to start a team with co-workers, family or friends; or donate to help more babies get a healthy start in life. Medela employees across the USA have raised funds to benefit the March for Babies program. Since 2008, Medela has raised more than $110,000 for the March for Babies program.

  • Women in the Workplace Speaker Series

Melissa Gonzales will be part of the March of Dimes live virtual panel on May 14, called “Executive Mentorship & Career Roadmap”.  To tune in, register here at www.marchofdimes.org/events/mentorship.

“Medela has been an important partner for March of Dimes in Illinois since 2008,” said Ashley Summers, Executive Director, Chicago Market March of Dimes. “We are so thankful for Medela and their employees for their commitment to our mission through their participation in our March for Babies, Signature Chef’s Auction and advocacy initiatives. In addition to their continued work to bring attention to Chicago’s alarming maternal and infant health disparities we are excited about their partnership growth as new national partner.”

Medela is focused on expanding the support available to new parents, introducing new digital resources and breastfeeding products later this year. This year, Medela announced the launch of their new category expansion and breast care product, Medela Baby featuring a full range of pacifiers for infants through 18 months and beyond. This is part of Medela's initiative to support families and babies beyond breastfeeding. Medela also unveiled Purelan™, Medela's most advanced formulation of medical-grade lanolin, offering fast relief and protection for breastfeeding moms.
