Through advancing research, observing natural behavior and listening to our customers, Medela turns science into care while nurturing health for generations. Across the different stages of life, our products go beyond form and function. They heal, nurture health and build bonds. Medela has been caring for moms and babies, patients and healthcare professionals for so long, we’ve turned it into a science.

Over the decades, Medela has become a global company represented by 21 subsidiaries in Europe, the Americas, Asia, and Australia, and is present in 100 countries around the world through an independent distribution network. As we have grown as a company and expanded globally so has our desire to make a difference on a global scale.

With the mission statement serving as our compass, Medela launches its new corporate social responsibility program, Medela Cares, to support the United Nations Global Compact and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) outlined within.

Our three pillars

Medela Cares is anchored by three pillars: people, planet and society. In alignment with the Ten Principles of the UNGC and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Medela Cares is focused on where we can have the greatest impact aligned with our business priorities. The global topics of human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption are synthesized into three pillars of our commitment.

People

As an international organization employing more than 1,500 people worldwide, we are inspired by the passion and commitment of our teams to improve the lives of moms, babies, and patients. We foster an environment that values each member of our team as essential through initiatives like our return to work program, which supports Medela parents as they transition back to work after baby – and 16 weeks of paid parental leave for all U.S. employees.
