There is still so much to discover on the topic of human milk and lactation. The system of mother, baby and milk is complex, it touches many professions and scientific disciplines. To tackle the topic, every two years, the world's leading human milk and lactation researchers come together to share their fascinating findings at the ISRHML conference. At the end of 2018, the 19th conference of the International Society of Human Milk and Lactation Research was held in Japan, with the overarching theme of 'Protecting, Promoting and Supporting Breastfeeding from Biology to Policy'. The conference did not disappoint, a few of the latest insights can be found published here in the Swiss Obstetrica Journal.
