We have been able to engage the world’s most influential breastfeeding and lactation researchers for the International Breastfeeding and Lactation Sympoisum 2020 to present their recent discoveries and updates to a select audience. An integral part of the breastfeeding research calendar, the 2020 symposium will focus on the ability of lactation science to shape and impact clinical practice and the use of mother's milk as a medical intervention in the NICU.

Established speakers such as Profs. Berthold Koletzko, Sertac Arslanoglu, Lars Bode and Donna Geddes will offer their views on the future of breastfeeding research and its application in clinical practice. Beyond that, leading NICU specialists Profs. Diane Spatz, Christoph Fusch and Paula Meier will address the importance of own mother’s milk use in the NICU and issue a call to action, focusing in particular on the successful initiation of milk production for this vulnerable population – please find the programme here.

Over the years, the Medela Symposium has become a milestone in the global breastfeeding calendar. The event provides a unique opportunity to meet the world's best academics and clinicians in the field of breastfeeding research, and offers groundbreaking insights that will challenge you and change practice.

This globally recognised conference gives like-minded professionals the opportunity to come together, unite for the value of human milk and actively contribute to shaping the future to implement best practices worldwide. Make sure you are part of the 2020 story and join in.
