Survey findings from New Moms’ Healthy Returns make waves

Medela, Mamava and Milk Stork, the team behind New Moms’ Healthy Returns shook up the conversation around breastfeeding in the United States when Medela issued a press release promoting the findings of a survey the partnership conducted of over 2,000 working moms across the United States — the results of which revealed that 4 out of 5 working moms say their employers could better support breastfeeding parents.

The insights were a hot topic on both corporate news sites and popular parenting forums, reaching nearly a million online readers. Babygaga and Mommy Talk Show featured the story, with the latter’s creator and host Joyce Brewer commenting, “I wish I could say I was shocked that in 2020, working women need more support from their employers to continue breastfeeding”.

Publishers like Employee Benefit News, HR Drive and Bloomberg Law Legal News all mentioned the survey findings, which highlight the opportunity employers have to improve the support they offer to their new parent employees. EBN pointed to the survey as evidence of the widespread employee support for better breastfeeding policies driving companies like Intel, The Washington Post, Goldman Sachs and Chipotle to bolster their paid leave and parental benefits.
